About / Bio
Michelle started her journey in birth work in 2003 as an independent doula working with families from all walks of life. Over the years she continued studying, learning and adding to her offerings with various trainings and certifications birth related. In 2010 she decide to put her private birth business on the side in order to start a non-profit 501(c)(3) called Mothering the Mother, Inc (https://motheringthemotherinc.org) because she saw an incredible need in the Milwaukee area for high quality birth professionals willing to work with women from all walks of life. Her organization grew over the years and now offers birth doulas, postpartum doulas, childbirth and new parent education, lactation support, and support groups. In 2015 Michelle started to train individuals through an organization called the International Childbirth Education Association (ICEA). She trains individuals all over the United States to become childbirth educators, birth doulas, postpartum doulas, and she offers an ICEA approved early lactation workshop. In addition to the ICEA offerings she also trains birth professionals in Safety and Self Care and she offers an intensive business workshop where birth professionals learn to take their business to the next level (http://mtmtraining.org).
In 2016, Michelle opened a pregnancy and birth related store in West Allis called Beyond the Birth where she sells labor support items, baby related items including cloth diapers, breastfeeding supplies, feminine hygiene products and much more (http://beyondthebirth.org). Then in 2017 Michelle decided to re-open her private birth business, Milwaukee Doulas where she offers childbirth and new parenting education, birth doulas, postpartum doulas, and lactation support. She currently runs her private business Milwaukee Doulas, Mothering the Mother, her store Beyond the Birth and travels and trains. Michelle is caring and compassionate and is dedicated to improving maternal and perinatal outcomes in the Milwaukee area and surrounding counties. Michelle’s business is your one stop shop for everything pregnancy related.
