About / Bio
Michelle started her journey in birth work in 2003 as an independent doula working with families from all walks of life. Over the years she continued studying, learning and adding to her offerings. In 2010 she decide to start a non-profit 501(c)(3) in order to be able to advance the services that she was offering. Her organization grew over the years and now offers birth doulas, postpartum doulas, childbirth and new parent educcation, prenatal care coordination, lactation support, support groups, and even a store. Her facility is a one stop shop created to meet the needs of the expectant and new mothers in the community.

The organization she created, Mothering the Mother is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to improving maternal and perinatal outcomes in the Milwaukee area and surrounding counties. We work with women from all income levels by assisting them through their pregnancy, childbirth, breastfeeding, and postpartum period.
